Dean Martin Sings About Palm Springs

Hey pallies, likes today's Dino-gram proves that the ol' net is just chocked  full pure pure Dino-gold that's just waitin' to be mined!  From the blog pad, "Palm Springs Homes And Condos For Sale," via our pallies at google blog search, comes the rarest of rare so rare that it  was "never commercially released.!"

As the post shares, this Dino-croon, "It's 1200 Miles From Palm Springs," was recorded by our Dino in 1958 to promote the annual Palm Springs "Desert Circus," whose theme in '58 was Texas.  Likes how cool of our Dino who had a residence in Palm Springs to do his part to promote this yearly week long bash.  And, likes as I listened to it, it is indeed our most beloved Dino at his coolest of cool, hippest of hip, randiest of randy croonin' best!

The pallies at  "Palm Springs Homes And Condos For Sale" found it when they "just stumbled upon it on Youtube the other day."   And, likes google blog search helped ilovedinomartin to "stumble" 'pon it.
Likes the real kick in the head pallies is likes this clip has been on youtube for over 4 years and it has only had likes 800 hits.....likes as we sez, a rare, rare Dino-croon just waitin' to be uncovered and be shared with the larger Dino-world.

Dean Martin Sings About Palm Springs

Back in 1958, former Palm Springs resident, Dean Martin recorded this promotional 45 record, which was never commercially released. I just stumbled upon it on Youtube the other day.
The title of the single is “It’s 1,200 Miles From Palm Springs to Texas.” The song was used to promote the Palm Springs “Desert Circus,” which began in 1937. It was an annual week-long event in April, with a different theme each year. In 1958, the theme was “Texas.”
A number of well known songs have been written and recorded here, by some of the biggest entertainers on the planet, but this is the first song I’ve ever heard about Palm Springs. It’s a start, but I’m still waiting for our “New York, New York,” “Chicago,” or “I Left My Heart In San Francisco” sized hit song. What do you think, Barry Manilow?
